I am a self-taught, published, mixed-media artist and designer of Rusty Monkey Studio resin art product line.
For over 30 years, the company my husband, Phillip, and I own, has played an integral part in the entertainment industry, providing all sorts of creative elements you see in movies, theme parks, television, museums, and casinos. Rusty Monkey Studio was born from a merged love of second-hand shopping and thinking outside the box to create new things. Having my studio in close proximity to our shop and in-house artisan team, allows me access to current technologies, tools, and inspiration that spawn new ideas every. single. day.
In 2010, my first published pieces were Forming A Friendship, a black and cream, French-style, miniature dress form; and Wish Dream Create, a re-worked wooden mail caddy, also in a black and cream palette. A few years later, adding some Laugh Play Connect to the mix and all is well in my world. Since then, my work has graced the pages of several magazines as cover art, featured artist, how-to’s, and editorial content. My work has also been previously published under the pseudo name PatinaMarie, displayed in local art and quilt shows, and featured in early Ice Resin DT online and e-publications.
